How much would it cost to change suspension on 2000 Lincoln Navigator??

I have a 2000 Lincoln Navigator, and it has air suspension. However, the air compressor broke, and two of the air bags have a leak. I want to fix my suspension the cheapest way possible. I think the cheapest thing to do would be to replace my air suspension with a conversion kit that would put my vehicle on regular coils. I found a web site where I can buy the conversion kit for $420, but how much would the labor cost to change it for me?

Product Description
“Air suspension systems can provide you with a smooth ride as long as they are functioning properly. However, it can be a very expensive chore to repair a broken down air suspension system. All of the parts in a factory air suspension system are interconnected. Damage to one part of the system will often cause damage to other parts. It is a domino effect that results in the failure of multiple components in your air suspension system. After about 3-7 years the air springs/air bags, air lines and air shocks begin to develop cracks and leaks due to age, weather and use. These small leaks are often not noticeable because the air suspension compressor compensates for the loss of air by running more often. The air suspension compressor is not designed to run continuously, so it quickly burns out. As the cracks in the air springs get worse they often allow moisture into the air system. The air suspension dryer is designed to remove moisture from the air system. It is filled with tiny silicon pellets that are super absorbent. Over time the dryer becomes saturated with moisture and can no longer prevent it from reaching the compressor. This can easily cause the compressor to burn out. In addition to this, the moisture can weaken the rubber used in the air springs and air shocks. When this happens you will most likely find yourself having to replace not only the air springs but also your air suspension compressor and dryer. For some vehicles it can cost more than $4,000 to $6,000 to repair the air suspension system. And even then it is not guaranteed to fix the problem permanently. Strutmasters has developed a solution to this expensive problem. Strutmasters air to non-air suspension conversion kits will replace your air suspension system with passive coil springs, coil-over-struts, and shock absorbers. The Strutmasters conversion kits will eliminate your air suspension problems forever. Strutmasters provides a Lifetime Warranty for all of its air to non-air suspe

Question about the air suspension on my 92 Lincoln Continental?

The radio and CD player wasn’t working on it, and I found out someone had messed around with the fusebox. I hotwired the radio and CD player using a fuse holder. There was a spark in the process, then the digital speedometer shut off, but I found the correct fuse and used a fuse holder on that one. Two or three days after that, when I started the car, the compressor kicks in but the back suspension wouldn’t raise and there is a hiss behind the left rear air strut. The weather was very cold, and I know this can damage the air bags/lines, also, a day before, the tires went flat because they were dry rotted. So, could the fuse work have damaged a switch or sensor to the air suspension, the cold weather damage the bag\line, or the tires going flat set the sensor off? Air struts are $170 ea. I know there are spring conversion kits for $500 that will save me some money, but I read that you can use regular struts from a 92 Ford Taurus or Mercury and they will work the same. Will this work?

what do i need to have manual control of my ride height on my 94 lincoln continental air ride suspension?

Lincoln Mark VIII Suspension – Normal Day with Fastbag

An example of a normal day with a fastbag conversion system. I raise the car with the alarm button, drive off and return. As I arrive, I drop the car back down to the ground. I then get out and do it all over again from my transmitter while I grab a closer angle.

HELP! Air Shocks vs. Air Suspension in Lincoln Navigator?

Ok here is my dilema, One of the suspension air bags went out and along with it the suspension motor? anyhow he said the mtor cost $500 and the bag $300 plus labor. So he suggested that perhaps I might want to remove the suspension and replace with air shocks instead all for $600 including the labor….In all reality I dont have alot of money to work with but I want to make a good decision. Has anybody done this before switch from suspension to shocks??? and if so how big is the difference? I love the floating feeling of the Suspension but if its not that much of a difference perhaps I should change to shocks. Please help all and any comments welcome. Thank you all for your help!

‘98 Lincoln Mark VIII randomly “dumps”all air pressure from suspension leveling system .?

My’98 Lincoln Mark VIII has an air suspension system problem. For some reason at odd times the bleed valve opens up and lets ALL the air out of the system (not just down to the high-speed cruise level). I happened to walk by it once after it had been parked about a day and heard a “whoosh” sound as all the air came out in a few seconds and the car sunk to tne ground. I took it to Ford. Result: they found no bag leak (obviously!) and most amazing, all codes and self-tests performed on the system said everything was okay!,even while the car was completely bottomed out on the ground! They tell me to strip out the system and put in springs and shocks! I don’t buy it. Now, for the past few months, while I’m driving on the interstate, it deflates and the front of the car scrapes the road when I hit a bump. REALLY unsafe. Only way to get it reinflated is to pull over, shut ignition off, restart, and wait for system to pump up. Please let me know if you know what’s going or had same problem.
